Catholic University's Benjamin T. Rome School of Music will present Handel's opera "Julius Caesar" ("Giulio Cesare"). The performance will be in Italian with English supertitles projected on a screen. The opera is directed by Jamie Roberts and conducted by Joel Lazar. For a digital video promo, visit: mms://136.242.14.49/music.cua.edu/opera/juliuscaesar.wmv.

First staged in England in 1724, Handel's version of "Julius Caesar" is far from the dark tale of shadowy morality and political intrigue concocted by William Shakespeare. Rather it is a tale of heroism, revenge and royal intrigue in which the put-upon Cleopatra is saved from the clutches of her evil brother Ptolemy by the dashing Caesar.

General admission tickets are $20. Tickets for students, staff and seniors are $15. For more information, contact the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at 202-319-5414 or visit http://music.cua.edu.
