New Student Orientation Information Is Online

Incoming freshmen, transfer students and their parents can sign up for "Orientation 2007: Chart Your Course," CUA's award-winning program for new students, by visiting

"We strongly encourage all new students and their parents to take part in orientation," says Kathryn Jennings, assistant dean of students. "It's a great opportunity for students to acclimate to campus life before classes begin, and is a perfect time to start connecting with new friends, professors and advisers."

Incoming students and current members of the campus community should visit the Web site to learn more about the Orientation offerings, which get started Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, and continue through Sunday, Aug. 26.

Orientation offers new students a chance to learn about university services, programs and academic requirements from current CUA students, faculty and staff. The program also offers many opportunities to bond with other new students through a variety of social activities.

Sessions for parents provide an overview of campus life and university policies and address the changes and challenges that parents experience as their student joins the CUA community.

Additional sessions will be offered for incoming international students.

A schedule of orientation events is available at the Web site, along with a "New Student To-Do" list that includes important deadlines for signing up for classes, housing and other elements of campus life.
