Three CUA Athletic Teams to Compete in Conference Championships

Three athletic teams from The Catholic University of America have earned the right to compete in the Landmark Conference championships. All three teams will compete on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The women's soccer team will challenge Moravian College for the conference championship at Moravian's campus in Bethlehem, Pa., at 1 p.m. The Cardinals finished the season at 10-6-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the conference.

Even with a losing conference record, the men's soccer team (12-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference) will compete at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa., for the conference championship at 1 p.m.

CUA's field hockey team will compete for the conference championship at Cardinal Stadium at 2 p.m. against Juniata College (Huntingdon, Pa.). The CUA team finished the season at 12-6 overall and 6-0 in the conference.

With an overall record of 7-1, the Cardinals football team is in control of its destiny with two games remaining. Wins in their last two games would ensure an Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs. The Cardinals will travel to Guilford College (4-4) in Greensboro, N.C., on Nov. 8 and will play Bridgewater (Va.) College (3-5) at home on Saturday, Nov. 15.
