The Catholic University of America's University Chorus and Chamber Choir and CUA's Campus Ministry Musicians will combine to present the "Solemn Vespers for the Feast of St. Cecilia for the Catholic University Community."

Leo Nestor, Justine Bayard Ward Professor of Music, will conduct. Jonathan Laird, graduate minister for music, will perform as organist.

The opportunity for the campus community to gather for prayer was organized at the suggestion of Jessica DePrizio, CUA associate campus minister for liturgy. The event will combine the musicians of the Office of Campus Ministry and the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music for a celebration of the Divine Office (a series of prayers including Morning Prayer, Office of Readings, Vespers/Evening Prayer and Compline) on the vigil of the Feast Day of St. Cecilia, patroness of music.

"We think it important that our students know of this beautiful way of prayer and this celebration will be a gift to the entire university community from the musicians of CUA," Nestor says.

Admission is free. For more information, call 202-319-5416.
