Catholic University Receives Honors in National College Rankings

The Catholic University of America has been honored in college rankings released by Washington Monthly, U.S. News & World Report and The Cardinal Newman Society.

The university was ranked 67th overall and 20th in the community-service category in Washington Monthly magazine's 2009 College Guide and Rankings. Since 2005, the magazine has rated public and private colleges and universities on "what colleges are doing for the country," using three criteria: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research and service.

CUA ranked 121st among national universities in the America's Best Colleges 2010 issue of U.S News & World Report. There are approximately 4,300 colleges and universities in the U.S. The university also made the publication's list of schools with the highest percentage of students receiving merit aid.

The Cardinal Newman Society listed CUA as one its 21 recommended colleges and universities in The Newman Guide to Choosing a Catholic College, an online guide for parents and students seeking a faithful Catholic education.
