Last September, The Catholic University of America hosted the Arizona Cardinals on campus when the team spent a week training at the Raymond A. DuFour Center athletic facilities. To read more about it, click here.
In addition, Michael J. Bidwill, J.D. 1990, is general counsel and president for the Arizona Cardinals organization. His mother, Nancy, is a trustee emerita of Catholic University.
By the end of the 2008 season, both Cardinal squads would go on to achieve their respective best franchise records in recent history. The CUA Cardinals went 9-2 for the season, advancing to post-season play and upsetting Johns Hopkins University in the ECAC Southeast Bowl - the first post-season win for a CUA football squad since 1935.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals enter Sunday's game as a seven-point underdog in what will be the franchise's Super Bowl debut. It will be the first time the Cardinals have competed for a championship since 1948, when the team was located in Chicago.
