CUA Alumni Welcome David Beckham

Alumni at the D.C. United Game
More than 80 CUA young alumni and friends were among the lucky fans to witness David Beckham’s American soccer debut. Despite a sore ankle and poor weather conditions, Beckham took the field at RFK Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd of 46,686. Our alumni tickets sold out quickly for the biggest debut of a foreign star in a U.S. soccer league since Pelé began playing with the New York Cosmos in 1975. D.C. United defeated Beckham’s team — the Los Angeles Galaxy — 1-0.
