Rev. Gerard S. Sloyan, S.T.L. 1944 (THEO), Ph.D. 1948 (A&S), a professorial lecturer at Georgetown University and formerly a faculty member at CUA and Temple University, has written the book Engaging Theologies: Catholic Perspectives, published by Liturgical Press. “Grounded in the New Testament, Sloyan’s study leads us to an already interpreted Jesus, distinctly portrayed by each evangelist,” according to the book’s back cover. “Going outside the New Testament, Sloyan takes us into the theological questions and developments that culminated in the affirmations of the councils of Nicea and Chalcedon.”
