In a room at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute Science Museum, four dozen CUA students heard career advice and networked with Catholic University alumni working in media, law, architecture, business and finance, marketing, psychology, and politics. Alyce (Bossow) Cerniglia, B.A. 1992, M.A. 1998, opened the Jan. 4 evening with a session on business etiquette, sharing advice on everything from interview skills to surviving lunch with the boss. Following that, students and alumni participated in an interactive “speed networking” session. Stacey (Persichetti) Moyers, B.A. 1999, who works for the Franklin Institute, hosted her fellow alumni and alumni-to-be.
Events such as this one are held in various cities while current students are home on winter break. Although these events were originally intended for CUA seniors, the offices of alumni relations and career services now invite all Catholic University students interested in honing their job search skills or securing an internship.
