  • CUA’s 2006–2007 men’s basketball team enjoyed its 10th consecutive season of winning 20 or more games, going 22-5 and winning the Capital Athletic Conference championship on Feb. 24. Only one other Division III school in the nation currently has a longer streak of 20-win seasons. Catholic University made it to the NCAA Tournament again, the ninth time in the past 10 years.

  • Women’s cross country/track and field coach Joe Fisher, B.A. 1975, was named the Capital Athletic Conference’s Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year for the fourth time. Fisher’s team had a solid year, finishing first in the York College Invitational and in the Pete Nevins Invitational, both held in Pennsylvania

  • Gia Cillizza and Joe Fisher Field hockey coach Gia Cillizza, who became the winningest coach in the program’s history last semester, was voted the CAC’s Field Hockey Coach of the Year. Catholic University’s team (which went 13-8, and 5-1 in conference games) received its first-ever No. 1 seed in the CAC tournament.
