CUA Appoints Dean of Enrollment Management

Dale M. Herold of Washington, D.C., has been appointed dean of enrollment management at The Catholic University of America.

"The appointment of Dale Herold to the position of dean of enrollment management gives me great encouragement and hope for this critically important area of university life and activity," said the Very Rev. David M. O’Connell, C.M., the university’s President. "Her impressive background and outstanding credentials make her the right choice at the right time for CUA."

Prior to joining CUA, Ms. Herold held several key administrative roles in admissions and financial aid at Fairleigh Dickinson University, the Polytechnic University of New York and Marymount Manhattan College.

"Dean Herold has extensive experience in the area of enrollment management and we’re very pleased to be able to attract a professional of her quality and with her experience," said CUA Provost John Convey. "I’m sure she will add a lot to the university and that she will help us manage our enrollment and increase it according to our plans."

Ms. Herold most recently served as the assistant to the executive vice president for strategic initiatives at Fairleigh, in Teaneck, N.J., where she held various positions over the past decade, including the post of vice president for enrollment management, dean of enrollment management and university director of admissions and financial aid.

During her 10-year tenure at the Polytechnic University of New York, Ms. Herold went from the position of assistant director of financial aid to associate dean of admissions and financial aid. She began her career in university administration as the assistant director of financial aid for Marymount Manhattan College, New York, New York, a position she held from 1974 to 1976.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from New York’s Molloy College in 1973, Ms. Herold went on to become a master of science candidate in journalism and professional writing at the Polytechnic University of New York. She has been a frequent guest presenter and contributor at conferences, workshops and activities sponsored by the College Board, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the New York State Financial Aid Administrators’ Association.
