Awards Honor Outstanding Students, Faculty and
Staff To be chosen professor or administrator of the year by a
vote of the university’s students is quite an honor, as is being chosen one of
the university’s outstanding seniors or juniors by university faculty and
staff. Some of the university’s most important annually bestowed
awards — including its leading student-chosen awards — were bestowed on
students, advisers, faculty and university staff on April 24 in the Edward J.
Pryzbyla University Center. Recipients of the awards were selected by committees and
advisers of the indicated organizations (e.g., the Undergraduate Student
Government). University Award winners, however, were selected by a committee
of university staff and faculty, choosing from a pool of candidates nominated
by faculty, students, staff and administrators. Career Services Awards and
the Housing and Residential Services Award were chosen by staff involved in
those areas. Both university and organization-specific award-winners
are chosen based on enthusiasm, involvement and scholastic merit. Sponsored by the Office of University Center, Student
Programs and Events (formerly known as the Office of Campus Programs), this
year’s 56th annual Student Leadership Recognition Ceremony honored
the following individuals and organizations: Undergraduate
