UPS Chairman/CEO Addresses ‘Values-Based Leadership’
Metropolitan College Sponsors Discussion
Michael Eskew, chairman and CEO of United Parcel Service, spoke about “Values-Based Leadership” at a Sept. 29 presentation/discussion sponsored by Metropolitan College. Several hundred Metropolitan College students, UPS senior staff, and CUA faculty and staff attended the event at the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center.
A native of Vincennes, Ind., Eskew began his UPS career in 1972 as an industrial engineering manager in Indiana. A member of the UPS Board of Directors since 1998, he was named executive vice president in 1999 and was given the additional title of vice chairman a year later. He assumed his current position on Jan. 1, 2002.
A graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Eskew also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Metropolitan College, which is celebrating its 25th year of serving adult learners in the Washington, D.C. area, extends the university’s educational resources and programs to students wanting to complete their undergraduate degrees and pursue personal and professional development opportunities.
