DETAILS: CUA’s Department of Drama presents “Rhinoceros” by Eugène Ionesco, an absurdist satire about the nature of conformity. In a town where the residents are turning into rhinoceroses (and making a mess in the process), Ionesco’s hero seems impervious to all arguments of friends and neighbors worrying about the situation. The play explores whether it’s possible to resist conforming to the herd, and if it’s human nature to join the stampede even if the price is the destruction of society.
Tickets are $12 for adults; $8 for seniors and CUA faculty, staff and alumni; $5 for students/children under 16. Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 202-319-4000 or visit http://drama.cua.edu.
