Information on 2009 March for Life

With the annual March for Life on Thursday, Jan. 22, Catholic University would like to make the CUA community aware of the transportation (parking and traffic) implications of march activities.

Please keep in mind the following:

University rules and regulations for parking will be enforced throughout the week. Please be aware that the Department of Public Safety will exercise routine patrol strategies with an increased presence.

This year we will host up to 1,600 students and their chaperones who will arrive on campus on Wednesday, Jan. 21, for the March for Life on the following day. The influx of many thousands of marchers may lead to traffic congestion in and around campus on Wednesday and Thursday, and may generally affect the morning and afternoon commute for employees.

CUA buildings are open and operating on a normal schedule this week. The following information covers changes on Thursday (March for Life day) to accommodate pro-life marchers who will be staying on campus.

NOTE: The DuFour Center Gym will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 21, to accommodate participants in the March for Life who will be sleeping on the gym floor. The DuFour Center itself will remain open that day, however.

NOTE: On Thursday, Jan. 22, the Food Court will open to the public at 9 a.m., instead of 7:30 a.m. From 7:30 to 9 a.m. the Food Court will be reserved for guests participating in the March for Life.
