CUA’s Department of Modern Languages and Literatures will present its sixth annual Frank R. Mastrangelo Lecture. The lecture will be presented by Roberto Dainotto, professor of romance studies at Duke University, and is titled “What is European Literature?"

Dainotto, a native of Italy and an expert in modern and contemporary Italian culture, is widely published. His most recent work, Europe (In Theory), won the 2010 Laura Shannon Prize for best book in European contemporary studies.

The late CUA alumnus Frank Mastrangelo, B.A. 1953, and his wife, Catherine, funded the lecture series to support the Italian Studies Program at CUA.
