Suzanne Feetham to Give Keynote Speech at Doctoral Nursing Student Conference

Suzanne Feetham, an internationally renowned expert on families and the integration of genetics and genomics in national education, practice and policy, will deliver the keynote address at the Doctoral Nursing Student Conference, Networking and Reception at Catholic University. Sponsored by the Washington Regional Nursing Research Consortium and CUA’s School of Nursing, the conference will run from 3 to 6 p.m. The event is part of the celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the nursing school.

Feetham, a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and a nursing research consultant at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C, has held clinical, research and leadership positions in academia, health systems, the federal government, the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Nursing Research. She was the principal investigator for an interdisciplinary project funded by the National Institutes of Health to develop a web-based course on family-centered clinical genomics for health professionals.

Approximately 20 posters by nursing doctoral candidates from CUA and other Washington, D.C., area universities will be displayed at the conference.

The conference is a continuing nursing education activity approved by the Maryland Nurses Association for two contact hours.
