DETAILS: The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music presents Hugue Leclère performing works by Chopin, Liszt, and Mussorgsky.

Born in France in 1968, Hugues Leclère perfected his playing with Catherine Collard before entering the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris, from which he graduated with high honors in piano, music theory, and chamber music.

As a global performer, he has played in the United States, Canada, Japan, China, Thailand, and in most European countries. He has been directed by world-renowned conductors such as Jacques Mercier, Jean-Pierre Wallez, Arie Van Beek, Mikhail Shcerbakov, Ondrej Lenard, Sébastian Lang-Lessing, Enrique Batiz, and Manuel Hernandez-Silva.

Leclère works with many composers, contributing to commissions for new works. In addition to his career as a concert artist, Hugues Leclère teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris conservatory and is the artistic director of the international festival Nancyphonies.
